Marie Kruttli
was born in a small village in Switzerland in a
family of classical musicians. She started playing the piano at the age of 6. After years of classical training, she became interested in jazz. Here was a music that resonated more with her body and soul. Marie studied piano at the University of Lausanne (HEMU), with Emil Spanyi as her teacher. She received her Bachelor in 2012. In 2014 she completed her Master’s with Hans Feigenwinter at the University of Music, Lucerne. Marie started to compose at a young age and put together a trio to perform. Her music follows a distinct intuitive approach, thanks to her rich musical background. She has received much praise in the last two years winning many scholarships. In 2016 the Marie Kruttli Trio won Switzerland’s most prestigious Zurich Jazz Award. Marie spent 3 months in 2015 in New York City, where she immersed herself in the local jazz scene. She recorded an EP called « What do I Miss » with notable young New York musicians, released in October 2015. Over the past few years, Marie has performed with many well known musicians. Gerry Hemingway,Tim Berne, Michael Abene, Matthieu Michel, Dominik Burkhalter, Alban Darche, Dejan Terzic, Samuel Blaser . And young upcoming New York musicians like Jonathan Barber, Devin Starks, Linda Briceno, Francesco Geminiani among many others.

New York City-based Jonathan Barber was voted the #1 Up- and-Coming Drummer of 2018 in Modern Drummer. Only 28 years old, he has already recorded and toured worldwide with such artists as Buster Williams, Jeremy Pelt, Wallace Roney, J.D. Allen, Terrace Martin, Nicholas Payton, Marcus Strickland, Abraham Burton, Harold Mabern, Steve Davis, Stefon Harris, and many more. Barber has also been called on for such significant performances as Jimmy Greene’s Ana Grace Project (with an all-star band comprised of Greene, Kenny Barron, John Patitucci, and Kurt Elling) and back-to-back sold-out concerts with the Brooklyn Philharmonic and Erykah Badu at the BAM Opera House.
Lukas Traxel
was born in 1993 in Uri, Switzerland. He studied Standup Bass at the « Hochschule Musik Luzern » and has established himself as an internationally acclaimed sideman. He has performed with well known musicians such as Nils Wogram, Julian Arguelles, Max Frankl, Nik Bärtsch, Zürich Jazz Orchestra to name a few and is a band member of ECM artist Elina Duni.
