Giuliana Soscia pianist, jazz conductor, composer, arranger, close to the great names of international jazz, with a curriculum that places her among the most important Italian musicians, graduated in piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and in Jazz Composition, she is the winner of numerous international competitions and awards both as instrumentalist (pianist and accordionist) and composer: 1st prize at Barga Jazz 2019, International Composition and Arrangement Competition for Jazz Orchestra, "Sonerfisa" Trophy 2001 and the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award in International City of Castelfidardo Award, the "XXXV European Personality Award" at the Campidoglio in Rome, the Orpheo Award 2018 critics' prize, in the Jazzit Awards and many others....

Giuliana Soscia pianist, jazz conductor, composer, arranger, close to the great names of international jazz, with a curriculum that places her among the most important Italian musicians, graduated in piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and in Jazz Composition, she is the winner of numerous international competitions and awards both as instrumentalist (pianist and accordionist) and composer: 1st prize at Barga Jazz 2019, International Composition and Arrangement Competition for Jazz Orchestra, "Sonerfisa" Trophy 2001 and the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award in International City of Castelfidardo Award, the "XXXV European Personality Award" at the Campidoglio in Rome, the Orpheo Award 2018 critics' prize, in the Jazzit Awards and many others.
He performs with his projects with his compositions in the most important festivals and theaters in the world (Italy, Vietnam, India, France, Brazil, Peru, Ethiopia, Turkey, United Kingdom, etc.), creating many recordings with important labels: Universal Music, BAM International, Alfamusic, Splasc (h), Wide, Alman Music, etc. He conducted the National Jazz Orchestra of the Italian Conservatories and the Parthenopea Jazz Orchestra by Pino Jodice and Giuliana Soscia, soloist with the Scottisch Jazz Orchestra, PMJO and many others. Currently engaged with the Giuliana Soscia Trio, projects for the Jazz Orchestra and the Giuliana Soscia Indo Jazz Project, an Italian-Indian ensemble, with which she opened the Celebrations of the 70 years of Diplomatic Relations between Italy and India, with three highly acclaimed concerts in February 2018 on an Indian tour. It boasts pestigious collaborations with Pino Jodice, Dave Douglas, Paolo Fresu, Tommy Smith, Roberto De Simone, Luis Bakalov, Roberto Fabbriciani, Raed Khoshaba, Maurizio Giammarco, Mario Marziecc. He has always been teaching with Masterclass in the Conservatories at the "Santa Cecilia" Conservatories in Rome, G.Verdi in Milan, "Nacional de Musica" Lima, "D.Cimarosa" in Avellino, "Venosa" in Potenza. He currently runs a workshop "The art of improvisation from East to West Giuliana Soscia Indo Jazz Project" at the "G.Verdi" Conservatory in Milan.
Giuliana Soscia Trio "Sophisticated Ladies - A tribute to Women Composers in Jazz" is a project conceived and created by Giuliana Soscia, a magnifying glass on the female universe, seen through composition and arrangement in the jazz field. Born in 2014 on the occasion of the Women in Jazz festival for the Adkins Chiti Foundation, it gave the author the opportunity to undertake her commitment in popularizing female jazz composition aimed at enhancing the role of women in jazz. Giuliana Soscia then performed in 2015 at the Casa del Jazz in the Midjane festival and in a prestigious Tour in India on the occasion of Women's Day 2016 in the most important theaters of INDIA, the "Experimental Theater of the NCPA" Mumbai, "GD Birla Sabhaggar ”Kolkata,“ Civil Services Officer's Institute ”New Delhi, with the IICs of New Delhi, Mumbai, with great public consensus and articles on Il Messaggero and Indian national TV. Then again with the same project at the International Jazz Day in Rome with the Santa Cecilia and Telethon Conservatory, and at the International Women's House for the Rome in Jazz festival. Giuliana Soscia as a pianist presents some of her original compositions and arrangements of songs by famous jazz musicians who have left an indelible mark on jazz history such as Carla Bley, Toshiko Akiyoshi and Maria Schneider all composers and arrangers and conductors of jazz orchestras. The trio is completed by two exceptional musicians Dario Rosciglione on double bass and Giuseppe La Pusata on drums.
